Infrared | Red Light Therapy
What is Red | Infrared Light Therapy?
Developed by NASA in the mid 90’s, in what can best be described as a happy accident. Red | Infrared light therapy (also known as Photobiomodulation) is a type of treatment that uses light-emitting diodes to emit red and near-infrared light.
At Rajeunir Bowral we use full body red | infrared mats & and overhead red | infrared device for the face, neck & décolletage.
These lights are defined by their wavelengths. Light of these specific frequencies penetrates beyond the skin to impact the entire body, improving both physical and mental well-being.
How does it work ?
(mitochondria) in your cells absorb this energy which stimulates blood and oxygen circulation.
This interaction with the mitochondria stimulates your immune system and making it more energy efficient, thereby promoting the regeneration of skin tissues and muscles.
Red light therapy uses relatively little heat and is not painful nor does it damage the skin.
Both red light and near-infrared light help increase cellular energy, reduce inflammation, increase collagen production and blood flow. However, red light is most useful in treating skin conditions, mental health problems, promoting healthy sleep, and improving mood. On the other hand, since near-infrared light penetrates deeper into the tissues, it promotes healing and cell rejuvenation and supports bone, muscle, and organ health.
The combination of red light and near-infrared light stimulates the production of collagen and elastin production associated with anti-aging benefits. That is why experts recommend it as an effective treatment for sun-damaged skin. Not only that, but red light and near-infrared light also provide a safe and successful treatment in reduction of fine lines, wrinkles, skin roughness, and intradermal collagen density increase, while also receiving high patient satisfaction rates.
Heath Benefits: Infrared | Red Light Therapy
Increases Blood & Oxygen Circulation.
Boost collagen production, enhancing skin tone, texture, and reducing fine lines and wrinkles.
By directing specific wavelengths of infrared light to the affected area, it encourages the repair of cells, reducing inflammation and serving as a catalyst for healing.
Infrared light can strengthen the mitochondria, the part of the cell that creates energy. By doing so, this procedure may increase energy levels, boosts recovery, combats muscle fatigue and promotes cellular healing.
Red light wavelengths stimulate the production of melatonin. Melatonin is a naturally occurring hormone that helps you sleep.
Research has shown that light therapy can effectively reduce the inflammation and relieve itching. In addition symptoms associated psoriasis, eczema & rosacea can be minimised with regular exposure.
